Former UofL forward Chane Behanan was cited early Wednesday morning by Louisville Metro Police for possession of marijuana. At 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday near 17th and Broadway, LMPD pulled over a vehicle in which Behanan was a passenger. The officer smelled marijuana and asked Behanan if he had marijuana on him. Behanan replied yes, according to LMPD.

Behanan committed to Colorado State in late January, and the athletic department for the Rams told cn|2 they are aware of the situation and are working on a formal statement.

After the citation, Behanan tweeted the following:

Behanan was kicked off the Cards team on Dec. 30 for violating university rules. Later in February, Behanan admitted that drug use was behind his dismissal. He went to Houston to spend time with John Lucas, a former NBA player and coach who runs a drug and alcohol treatment program.
