The Louisville basketball team earned its second straight Big East Tournament championship with a thrilling 78-61 win over Syracuse at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The Cards trailed 35-22 at the half and would fall behind by as many as 16 points before a devastating 27-3 run allowed them to take control. UofL outscored Syracuse 49-16 over the final 13 1/2 minutes.

Freshman Montrezl Harrell scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench for the Cards, who could be the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed when the pairings are announced on Sunday.

cn|2 Sports’ Chip Cosby caught up with Coach Rick Pitino and several UofL players on the floor after the big win.
