Cards get four-star recruit

The University of Louisville received a commitment on Wednesday from Devontre Parnell, a four-star cornerback from Fairfield High in Winnsboro, S.C. Parnell chose the Cards over Kentucky and N.C. State. lists Parnell as the 22nd-best cornerback in the Class of 2012. Parnell also had offers from Illinois, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, East Carolina and Toledo.
Parnell is listed at 5-11, 163 pounds and reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.5 range. Parnell gives U of L Coach Charlie Strong 11 known commitments for the 2012 class and is third player to pledge to the Cards this week. Georgia prep quarterback Will Gardner committed on Tuesday, followed by Indiana offensive lineman DeAndre Herron
