The 8th ranked Cards handily defeated the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Saturday at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, 44-7. It’s win number two for Louisville, after blowing past Ohio during last week’s season opener. EKU put a hurting on UofL’s running game, limiting the Cards to an average of 2.8 yards per carry. But that’s where their arsenal ended. Teddy Bridgewater proved once again to be unstoppable, finishing the day 23-for-32 for 397 yards and four touchdowns. Louisville led 37-0 before Eastern got on the board with a 15-yard touchdown. But the Cards countered on their next possession with a 42-yard touchdown and never looked back. Louisville heads to Lexington next Saturday for the annual Governor’s Cup rivalry game against UK. Be sure to tune in to cn|2 sports and KSTV this Friday night for a live Governor’s Cup call-in show at 6:30pm and 7:30pm.
