Cardinals start slow but finish fast

Montrezl Harrell finished with a double-double (13 points and 12 rebounds) and Anton Gill came off the bench to score a game high 15 points, as Louisville rallied early to beat Florida International easily 82-57. Harrell and Gill were two of five Cards finishing in double figures, the others being Terry Rozier (12 points) Wayne Blackshear (12 points) and Chris Jones (11 points).

The FIU Panthers kept UofL in check early on. The Cardinals only had 10 points midway through the first half, and did not grab their first lead until the 11 minute mark. However an 18-0 Cards first half run put the game out of reach as the Panthers never threatened again.

With the win, 5th ranked Louisville improves to 7-0 and will probably move up in the top 25 poll since number 4 Wisconsin lost to number 2 Duke on Thursday Night. FIU falls to 5-4. The Cardinals next game is Tuesday night when they take on Indiana in Madison Square Garden, as part of the Jimmy V Classic.
