Cardinals could never get the shots to fall, lose 63-52 to Duke

Projected NBA top draft pick Jhalil Okafor had 18 points and 7 rebounds. His teammate Amlie Jefferson scored a game high 19 as 4th ranked Duke came into the YUM Center and came out with the 63-52 over number 6 Louisville. The Cards fell behind by double digits in the first half, thanks to an 11-0 Blue Devils run, and could never get closer than 10 points in the second half.

Terry Rozier finished with a team high 17 for UofL while Montrezl Harrell had a double double 10 points and 14 rebounds. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 15-3 overall, 3-2 in the ACC, while Duke halts a two game losing streak by improving to 15-2 overall, 3-2 in the ACC.

Despite the loss, Cardinals Head Coach Rick Pitino prefers to see the UofL “Glass” as half full.

Louisville is now off for a week, next playing on Sunday January 25t at Pittsburgh.
