Can UofL Beat Cal State Fullerton?

Postseason history is on Louisville’s side when it comes to playing at home. The Cards are 11-0 in NCAA Tournament games at Jim Patterson Stadium since 2010. They hope to continue that trend hosting Cal State Fullerton in this weekend’s Super Regional.
Fullerton however may be the team to end the streak. Thomas Eshelman is scheduled to start at pitcher for the Tigers in Saturday’s Super Regional opener and has the tools to cool down the Cards at the plate. Eshelman has given up 19 earned runs in 115.2 innings this season and has walked only six batters all year.
With that in mind, UofL is preparing to see a lot of pitches in the strike zone on Saturday and hoping that starting Kyle Funkhouser on the mound Saturday combined with a rowdy home crowd will be enough to overcome Cal State Fullerton.
