01/19/2017 10:45 PM

The #15 Bellarmine Knights (15-3, 7-1) scored the first 17 points of the game and never looked back in their Thursday night win over Lewis University (11-7, 6-2).

The fast start gave the Knights a big 47-15 lead at halftime. From there, it was cruise control in the second half, with BU ultimately winning 87-53.

It’s the second straight GLVC victory for the Knights.

Adam Eberhard led the way for the Knights with 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Eberhard also hauled in six rebounds.

Joining Eberhard in double-digits for BU was Rusty Troutman. Troutman scored 12 points in Thursday’s contest.

Tyler Jenkins and Al Davis each were close to double-figures. Both players finished with nine points each. In fact, Davis almost had a double-double as he finished the game with eight rebounds as well.

Twelve Bellarmine players scored in the match-up.

As a team, the Knights shot 29-of-54 (53.7%) from the field, including 12-of-23 (52.2%) from behind-the-arc.

Up next for Bellarmine are the #22 University of Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers, who fell to #9 Southern Indiana 76-72 on Thursday night. Tip-off is set for 3:15 p.m. ET on Saturday inside Knights Hall.
