Louisville beats WKU as Bria Smith gets a triple double

Louisville Senior Guard Bria Smith had a triple double Tuesday Night, scoring a game high 22 points, to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, as the 7th ranked Cardinals beat in-state rival Western Kentucky 89-67. With the win, Louisville improves to 5-0 while the Lady Hilltoppers fall to 3-2.
The Cards took the lead three and a half minutes into the game and never looked back. Sara Hammond, who earlier in the day was announced as being on the watch list for the John Wooden award, had a double-double, 16 points and 10 rebounds.
WKU’s Chastity Gooch also doubled up the final stat sheet with a 20 point and 10 rebound performance.
Next up for the Lady Cards is a home game Friday against Lafayette. WKU stays on the road, traveling to Hempstead, NY for the Hofstra Thanksgiving Tournament. Western will meet Tulane Friday afternoon, and then play either Hofstra or Northern Iowa on Saturday.
