BREEDERS' CUP | Why Number 4 is Number 1 for American Pharoah

Triple Crown winner American Pharoah will be coming out of the number four gate in Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Classic. Veteran Horse Racing Journalist Caton Bredar says American Pharoah could not have gotten a better post draw.
Bredar says American Pharoah likes to sprint to the front when possible, and being right in the middle of the field gives the thoroughbred an excellent opportunity to execute that strategy.
American Pharoah will try to become the first horse to ever win both the Triple Crown and the Breeders’ Cup Classic in the same year, being called the Grand Slam.
However the three year old might get some tough competition from an older filly who likes running with (or against) the big boys.
