ESPN Outside the Lines report bolsters UofL allegations

Katina Powell, the self-proclaimed Louisville escort and co-author of the book “Breaking Cardinal Rules,” did a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Outside the Lines where she stated that “side deals” took place, and “side deals meant sex.”

The OTL report also indicates that five former players and recruits attended parties at Billy Minardi which included strippers paid for by then Cardinals director of basketball operation Andre McGee.

ESPN also spoke to Powell’s daughters, Lindsay and Rod-Ni Powell. Lindsay Powell said she had sex on one occasion with Russ Smith for money. Rod-Ni Powell said she had sex with Montrezl Harrell for “like 100, maybe a little more.” Katina said she was the one who had sex with Terrence Williams.

Outside the Lines named Montrezl Harrell, JaQuan Lyle, Jordan Mickey, and Terry Rozier and asked Powell if they had sex on their recruiting visits. Powell responded “yes.”

Powell was asked if she thought Rick Pitino knew of the activities. Katina responded, “This is my theory. Four years, a boatload of recruits, a boatload of dancers, loud music, alcohol, security, cameras, basketball players who came in at will. How could Rick not know?”

UofL, Rick Pitino, and Andre McGee have not offered responses, citing ongoing investigations.
