Championship-level boxing is coming back to Louisville this June.

Four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield and his company Real Deal Sports & Entertainment announced on Friday that the Read Deal Championship Boxing series will take place June 24 at Freedom Hall.

“This event is a big win for our city, and another chance for us to welcome folks from around the nation and the world to the hometown of Muhammad Ali,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.

The undercard will feature eight professional and three amateur bouts.

The boxers taking part will be announced within the next ten days or so.

The fight card will be part of the “I Am Ali” Festival, which is a celebration that will occur to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Muhammad Ali’s passing.

“Ali was an inspiration to me as I started by professional career; the integrity and sportsmanship this event brings to the sport of boxing is one way I can give back to fighters to help them succeed – in the ring and in life,” said Holyfield.
