Blackshear, Ware Out For Pitt Game

The University of Louisville will be without two key members of its rotation for tonight’s Big Monday game against Pitt.
The school announced Monday afternoon that sophomore swingman Wayne Blackshear will miss the game due to a shoulder injury, while sophomore guard Kevin Ware will sit due to a suspension.
Blackshear, who has battled shoulder injuries throughout his brief UofL career, suffered the injury to his right shoulder Sunday in practice. A starter in 19 of the Cardinals’ 20 games, Blackshear is averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and his 30 three-point goals are second-most on the team.
This marks the second time Ware has been suspended this season, as he also missed the exhibition opener against Pikeville. Ware is averaging 3.8 points and nearly 16 minutes a game.
Blackshear’s injury could mean a return to the starting lineup for Russ Smith, who was benched before Saturday’s 53-51 loss to Georgetown in favor of Luke Hancock.
