Bengals cut roster to 75

08/26/2014 04:17 PM

On Monday, the Bengals released four players, including first-year defensive tackle Larry Black, rookie safety Isaiah Lewis, first-year kicker Quinn Sharp and fourth-year wide receiver Ryan Whalen. The team also terminated the contract of fourth-year cornerback R.J. Stanford, which releases him to free agency.

Today, six more were waived to meet the 75 player requirement by the NFL’s 4 p.m. deadline. Cincinnati waived tight end Kevin Brock, wide receiver Jasper Collins, linebacker James Davidson and quarterback Matt Scott. They also let go of injured linebacker J.K. Schaffer (concussion) and cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks (thumb). If Schaffer and Westbrooks clear waivers they will revert to the Bengals injured reserve list.

After the Bengals host the Colts on Thursday night, they must make their final cuts to trim the roster to 53 on Saturday.
