Ben Rhodes leaves Dale Earnhardt Jr's team for a better opportunity

Ben Rhodes is only 18 years old, and has only been racing in NASCAR for one season. But the Louisville native knows what he wants, and that is more time behind the wheel and on the track.

So when Ohio based Thor Sport Racing offered the Holy Cross alum a full time ride in the Camping World Truck Series, Rhodes grabbed it. It meant leaving Dale Earnhardt Junior’s racing team, Junior Motorsports, but Rhodes did not want 2016 to be a repeat of this past season, when he only raced part time in 10 events.

Rhodes will drive the number 41 Alpha Energy Solutions Toyota, and concentrate his efforts full time on the truck series.

It all gets started for ben in February, with his first race being in daytona.
