BELLARMINE | Knights off to dominant start in GLVC

01/15/2016 05:38 PM

The Bellarmine Men’s Basketball team started their three game home stint in dominant fashion, a 86-57 pummeling of Truman State University. But the Bulldogs are just the latest victim of a Knights team tearing through the early rounds of conference play.

Now ranked 5th in Divion II, Bellarmine has won nine consecutive games, and are an unblemished 5-0 in the GLVC. The Knights now are forced into a quick turnaround for a Saturday afternoon matchup against Quincy University. Quincy comes to Louisville on a six game win streak and scoring 86 points a game, but Bellarmine is as hot as any team in the country due to the intangible factor of tenacity according to head coach Scott Davenport.

The game against Quincy will be the second part of a Bellarmine double-header. The Men’s game tips off at 3:15 pm ET, and follows the 1:00 Women’s tipoff against the Hawks. The Quincy Women come to Louisville ranked 19th in the nation with one loss. The Bellarmine women are still a perfect 11-0 this season (5-0 GLVC).
