BELLARMINE BASKETBALL | Knights To Play Cincinnati at Freedom Hall

The Bellarmine men’s basketball program announced on Wednesday that the Knights will play its annual exhibition game against Cincinnati inside Freedom Hall this year.

The game is set for 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The Knights have played the Bearcats in Cincinnati the last five seasons. But this year, Cincinnati’s home, Fifth Third Arena, is being renovated.

Both head coaches wanted to keep the series going this season, and as a result, the NCAA granted a waiver to allow the Division I Bearcats to play the Division II Knights in an exhibition. The NCAA also granted a waiver “to allow the game to be played at an off-campus venue.”

“We are certainly appreciative of Coach Cronin’s willingness to come on the road for an exhibition game, and we think this is a great opportunity for all the basketball fans in our area to experience Bellarmine basketball in a historic and great venue,” said BU Director of Athletics Scott Wiegandt.

BU head coach Scott Davenport talked about the exhibition game as well:

Ticket prices have also been revealed for the match-up. Lower arena tickets will cost $20, while upper arena tickets will cost $5.
