Attorney Keith Poynter discusses intricacies of Rick Pitino's contract

The University of Louisville board of trustees voted unanimously yesterday to begin the process of terminating Rick Pitino’s contract, citing just cause.

The university also announced that Rick Pitino has notified them of what his lawyers perceived to be a material breach of contract. So while Pitino’s employment likely coming to an end in the near future, he appears ready to go through legal procedures over the terms of his contract.

Keith Poynter is a Louisville attorney with a specialty in sports law. He recently wrote a detailed piece on Rick Pitino’s contract , and joined the show to explain what is likely to result from the impending legal proceedings.
