Getting a chance to defend Olympic gold, Angel McCoughtry will represent Team USA this summer in Brazil. McCoughtry played for the University of Louisville Women’s Basketball team from 2005 – 2009, where she proved to be a dominant point scorer for the Cardinals. The final two seasons of McCoughtry’s college career were spent under current head coach Jeff Walz. In those seasons, the Women’s team made appearances in the NCAA’s Sweet Sixteen (2008) and Championship game (2009).

McCoughtry was the number one overall pick in the 2009 WNBA draft and her recent accomplishment continues to earn praise from her college coach.
