Adam Scott says watching McIlroy play is motivating

08/05/2014 12:30 PM

While speaking with the media today, Adam Scott told reporters Valhalla is beautiful and added, “We are spoiled every time we show up at the PGA.”

Scott is one of this week’s top contenders as he chases his second major. The former top-ranked golfer is looking for a win at Valhalla and when asked if coming in second or third is good enough, his response was quick. “No. Not really.”

While Scott, of course, wants the number one spot back, he does believe McIlroy is more than deserving of the ranking.

“I think the right guy is at number one at the moment,” said Scott. “He’s played the best over the last couple of months.”

So how does Scott feel watching McIlroy win?

“It’s only motivating to see him play so well.”
