The WKU women’s basketball team is getting ready to head back on the road. The Lady Toppers (1-3, 0-0) are gearing up for the Georgia St. Tournament this weekend. They will face Mercer on Friday at 6 p.m. ET before facing Georgia St. on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. Both games will take place in Atlanta, Ga. The Lady Toppers are currently on a three-game losing streak. WKU football defensive lineman Jaylon George was arrested Saturday night in Bowling Green and charged with careless driving and a DUI. George, 20, was booked in the Warren County Regional Jail at 3:43 a.m. Saturday and released at 9:46 a.m. In the incident report obtained by Spectrum News, an office saw George driving a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex off the 31-W Bypass in Bowling Green around 2:37 a.m. Saturday. The Hilltoppers broke free from a 13-13 tie with Nicholls State (Southland Conference) to torch the Colonels for 60 points in the first half. By Ryan Dearbone Senior night is generally memorable on the Hill, but WKU and Middle Tennessee State University made the 2018 version unforgettable. After 3 low scoring quarters, in which neither team found its groove, both teams couldn’t stop scoring. WKU’s senior quarterback Mike White led the charge with 5 total touchdowns and 485 yards on 39-54 attempts. The final score didn’t indicate how close the game Tuesday night was. In the end, No. 6 Notre Dame was too much for WKU, winning 78-65. WKU football’s comeback attempt on Saturday night fell short. The Hilltoppers (5-5, 3-3) lost their third straight game, this time to Marshall (7-3, 4-2) by the score of 30-23. WKU, who entered the game coming off back-to-back losses against Florida Atlantic and Vanderbilt, was hoping to gain bowl eligibility on Saturday night.
