Commission on College Basketball recommends changes to college basketball

A commission led by former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has delivered significant recommendations to the NCAA, following an FBI investigation that resulted in the arrests of multiple people connected to college basketball. The recommendations include eliminating the league’s so-called one-and-done rule, which prevents college players from signing with the NBA until they are at least 19 years old. Louisville City FC’s regular season match from late March against North Carolina FC has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 9. It will begin at 7 p.m. ET inside Slugger Field. The two clubs were supposed to face each other on March 24, but bad weather postponed the match. The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) is getting ready to host its national tournament in Louisville. The event will take place from April 12 through April 15 at the Kentucky Expo Center. Louisville City FC continued its hot start to the USL regular season on Saturday night. LCFC (3-0-0) beat FC Cincinnati (2-1-0) in FCC’s home opener. The final was 1-0. The only goal of the match was courtesy of LouCity FC forward Cameron Lancaster in the 13th minute of the match. The River Cities Cup rivalry is getting ready to continue this weekend. Louisville City FC and FC Cincinnati will face each other Saturday at 7 p.m. ET inside Nippert Stadium. LouCity FC Head Coach James O’Connor talked about the rivalry on Monday afternoon: Both LouCity FC and FCC are 2-0-0 on the season. LOUISVILLE CITY FC | Boys in Purple Win Regular Season Opener

Louisville City FC opened up its 2018 USL regular season with a win in front of nearly 8,000 fans on Saturday. LCFC (1-0) won 2-0 over Nashville SC (0-1) thanks to a pair of second half goals. Luke Spencer scored his first goal of the season in the 56th minute of the match. Niall McCabe followed that up roughly ten minutes later, scoring his first goal of the season in the 66th minute of the match. The announced attendance at Slugger Field was 7,933. Up... Read more
