The Louisville men’s basketball team is getting ready to play arguably its toughest test of the year on Wednesday night. The Cards (16-5, 6-2) will take on No. 2 Virginia (20-1, 9-0) in Charlottesville, Va. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. The Louisville football program announced on Monday that Brian VanGorder has been named the team’s new defensive coordinator. VanGorder brings over 35 years of coaching experience to the Cardinals. “I’ve known Brian for a long time and have an extremely high level of respect for everything he’s accomplished throughout his coaching career,” said head coach Bobby Petrino in a press release. “He’s an outstanding teacher, a great communicator, and has displayed the ability to develop players at every level.” VanGorder comes... Read more

The No. 3 Louisville Cardinals Women’s Basketball team (22-1, 8-1 ACC) defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (10-12, 2-7 ACC) at the KFC Yum! Center Sunday afternoon, with a final score of 89-52. Junior guard Asia Durr lead the way for Louisville, scoring 26 points, three steals, an assist and four rebounds in 25 minutes. Three other Cardinals also scored in double-figures. UofL FOOTBALL | Eric Wood's Professional Career Comes to an End

Former Louisville football player and current Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood will never play in the NFL again. The 2016 Pro Bowl participant is being forced to retire from football because of a neck injury. “I was diagnosed with a neck injury as part of my season-ending physical with the Bills,” said Wood on Twitter. “After consultation with Dr. Cappuccino and other physicians, I was informed that I was no longer cleared to play football, even with surgery or further treatment.... Read more

The Louisville men’s basketball team continued its recent road trend of being involved in down-to-the-wire finishes. The result though Wednesday night did not come out their way. Miami (FL) (15-5, 4-3) snapped the Cards’ four-game winning streak, topping UofL (15-5, 5-2) in an overtime thriller. The Hurricanes won 78-75. The 2018 Louisville softball team is counting down to the upcoming season, which begins in less than a month. The Cards are coming off a 2017 campaign in which they finished with an overall record of 31-19. Within the ACC, UofL had a record of 14-8 last season.
