EKU FOOTBALL | EKU Announces Addition of 12 Future Colonels

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels announced on Wednesday that it has added 12 future Colonels to its program. Six of the future Colonels are freshmen and six are mid-year transfers that joined the program at the start of this semester. The new additions join an already highly-rated recruiting class of 2018 for the Colonels from the early signing period in December. WKU ATHLETICS | Videoboard Upgrades Getting Ready to Begin on The Hill

WKU Athletics announced on Thursday that the videoboards at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium and E.A. Diddle Arena will undergo renovations this spring. The renovations will “increase the size of the viewing area by nearly 400 percent.” “We are very excited for these major upgrades to the fan experience at our two largest venues for next season,” said Director of Athletics Todd Stewart in a press release. NASCAR | KY Speedway Announces Pace Vehicle Driver for 2018 Quaker State 400

Kentucky Speedway announced on Thursday that Hall of Famer and Cincinnati Reds radio announcer Marty Brennaman will be the honorary pace vehicle driver for the 2018 Quaker State 400. “I am thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to drive the pace car,” said Brennaman in a press release. “I’ll be honest, I accepted with a little bit of trepidation. WKU FOOTBALL | Hilltoppers Wrap Up Recruiting Class of 2018

The WKU football program announced 10 more signees to its recruiting class of 2018 on Wednesday. Thirteen recruits had already previously signed with Western Kentucky during December’s early signing period. “The ink’s drying on what I believe to be a historic signing class and a historic day for Western Kentucky football,” said head coach Mike Sanford in a press release. UofL FOOTBALL | Cardinals Sign 21 Players in 2018 Recruiting Class

The Louisville football program announced that it closed its 2018 National Signing Day with one of the best recruiting classes in program history. Back in December, UofL inked 19 players during the early signing period. On Wednesday, it added two more recruits. The two new future Cardinals are safety Marlon Character and running back Javian Hawkins. Character comes to the Cards from Northwest Mississippi Community College. The Eastern Kentucky men’s basketball team is hoping to snap a six-game losing streak this week. The Colonels (8-17, 2-10) host UT Martin (8-17, 3-9) on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET inside McBrayer Arena, before hosting Morehead St. (6-17, 2-10) on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. NASCAR | Kentucky Speedway Preparing for 2018 Season

The 2018 NASCAR season is quickly approaching as next week is “Speedweeks at Daytona.” That means NASCAR weekend at Kentucky Speedway is roughly only five months away. Kentucky Speedway held a southern media luncheon on Tuesday in Louisville. LOUISVILLE BATS | Bats Introduce Pat Kelly as New Manager

The Louisville Bats introduced new manager Pat Kelly on Tuesday afternoon. Kelly replaces Delino DeShields, who led the Bats from 2015-2017, compiling a record of 191-239 (.444). Kelly comes to Louisville after spending the past three seasons as manager of the Reds’ Double-A affiliate Pensacola Blue Wahoos. While there, he led the Wahoos to a 218-200 (.522) overall record. The Bats begin their 2018 season on Friday, April 6 at home against the Toledo Mud Hens.  Read more
