The EKU Colonels are getting ready for a two-game road trip later this week. On Thursday, the Colonels (9-18, 3-11) face Belmont (20-7, 12-2) in Nashville, Tenn. at 8 p.m. ET before squaring off against Tennessee St. (14-11, 9-5) in Nashville on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET. The No. 1 UConn women’s basketball team proved on Monday why it is the number one team in college basketball. No. 1 UConn (25-0, 12-0) got out to a 24-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 69-58 win over No. 4 Louisville (25-2, 11-1). NFL great Jim Brown will be the featured speaker at this year’s Paul Hornung Award Banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health. Brown was an All-American running back at Syracuse in the mid-1950s. After college, Brown played his entire NFL career as a member of the Cleveland Browns. He was named NFL Rookie of the Year during the 1957 season. The Louisville Cardinals Men’s Basketball team (18-8, 8-5 ACC), traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to face the Pitt Panthers (8-18, 0-13 ACC) Sunday and defeated Pitt 94-60, completing the regular-season sweet of the Panthers. Senior forward Anas Mahmoud, freshman guard Malik Williams and sophomore forward V.J. King led all-scorers with 14 points each.
