Five star center Mitchell Robinson has officially perplexed the masses. The 7-footer from Louisiana was signed to play basketball at Western Kentucky, he was then released from his letter of intent at the beginning of August, and is now returning to the program once again. Robinson re-enrolled at WKU this morning, and is expected to round out a promising Hilltopper frontcourt that now also contains Justin Johnson, and Kansas Transfer Dwight Coleby. The WKU volleyball team is counting down the days until it plays its first regular season game. School is back in session, which means football camp has come to an end for Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers concluded the fall training camp with a Saturday scrimmage, which left head coach Mike Sanford confident in Western offense. Senior quarterback Mike White echoed the coach’s thoughts. Western Kentucky football had a new face on the practice field yesterday. Cameron Echols-Luper has joined the program as a graduate transfer from Arkansas State. Echols-Luper is a native of Ennis, Texas and played two seasons at TCU before transferring to ASU. He will be one of the fastest players on the WKU roster. WKU Football | Three players suspended for season opener

Three Western Kentucky University football players have been suspended for the program’s season opener against Eastern Kentucky University on September 2. The school announced on Tuesday that sophomore running back Quinton Baker, redshirt freshman wide receiver Xavier Lane and redshirt freshman linebacker Tyler Obee will be held out of the game. The three players pleaded guilty on Monday to charges related to their involvement in a March frat house fight. Read more

D’Andre Ferby missed the entire 2016 season for Western Kentucky football, leaving the season-opening game against Rice after his first and only carry of the game. Ferby suffered a serious injury on that play, underwent surgery and was resigned to the sidelines for a whole year. But redshirt junior has found the silver lining in the unfortunate circumstance. Four Western Kentucky football players pleaded guilty to lesser charges on Monday for their role in a fight that occurred at a Bowling Green fraternity house. Quinton Baker, Tyler Obee, Cecil Stallings and Xavier Lane have pleaded guilty to second-degree wanton endangerment for their role in the beating of a WKU student at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house in March 2017.
