In a game that was stopped over half an hour for lightning in the area, the Louisville Cardinals (7-4, 4-4 ACC) were able to dominate the Syracuse Orange (4-7, 2-5 ACC) 56-10 in their final home game of the season at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Senior Day. The Louisville Cardinals Men’s Basketball team moves to 2-0 to start the season, after a 87-78 win over Nebraska-Omaha at the KFC Yum! Center Friday night. Class of 2018 swimmer Kyle Worrell signed his national letter of intent to continue his swimming career at the University of Louisville. The Westampton, N.J. native is following in his sister’s footsteps. Kelsi Worrell was of course one of the best swimmers in UofL swimming and diving history. The No. 9 Louisville women’s basketball team pulled off an upset over the weekend, as the Cards beat No. 5 Ohio St. in Columbus on Sunday, winning 95-90 in overtime. As impressive as the win was, there was also an incredible performance by UofL guard Asia Durr. The annual “Governor’s Cup” match-up between Louisville and Kentucky football will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 25. The game will air on SEC Network. The no. 16 Louisville men’s basketball team (1-0, 0-0) showed grit in Sunday’s season opening victory over visiting George Mason (1-1, 0-0). The Cards trailed at halftime, but bounced back in the second half to escape the KFC Yum! Center with a 72-61 win over the Patriots. The Louisville football team earned its sixth win of the season on Saturday, becoming bowl eligible. The Cards (6-4, 3-4) took the lead in the second quarter against Virginia (6-4, 3-3) and never looked back, ultimately winning 38-21. UofL quarterback Lamar Jackson accounted for four touchdowns in the game. Through the air, he finished 15-of-26 for 195 yards and three touchdowns. The No. 9 Louisville women’s basketball team began its 2017-2018 regular season with a win on Friday night. The Cards (1-0, 0-0) beat Southeast Missouri (0-1, 0-0) convincingly, winning 80-40.
