UofL WOMEN'S GOLF | Cardinals Preparing for NCAA Championships

The UofL women’s golf team is getting ready to take part in the NCAA Championships later this week. The national championship takes place May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. It will be the Louisville women’s golf program’s second-ever appearance in the NCAA Championships. UofL BASEBALL | Cards Host Indiana Tuesday at Jim Patterson Stadium

The Louisville baseball team is getting ready for its next game of the season, a non-conference match-up against Indiana on Tuesday. The Cards (37-15) and Hoosiers (33-15) will face each other at 6 p.m. ET inside Jim Patterson Stadium. UofL enters the contest riding a five-game winning streak.  Read more 

H.S. FOOTBALL | Kevin Wallace Era Underway at St. Xavier

St. Xavier High School (Louisville) introduced Kevin Wallace as its new head football coach back in February. Now, he’s leading his team through spring practice. Spectrum News’ Gary Fogle stopped by a Kevin Wallace-led St. X spring practice earlier this week: Prior to coaching at St. X, Wallace served as head coach of the Bowling Green High School football team. During his tenure at Bowling Green, he led the Purples to five state titles. Read more 

LOUISVILLE CITY FC | Boys in Purple Preparing to Face Nashville SC

Louisville City FC is hoping to bounce back from its first loss of the season. The Boys in Purple face Nashville SC on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET in Tennessee. LouCity FC beat Nashville SC 2-0 in the regular season opener back on March 17 inside Slugger Field: Sunday’s match will be LouCity FC’s first match since head coach James O’Connor was named USL Coach of the Month for his team’s performance in April.  Read more 

WKU FOOTBALL | Hilltoppers Add Michigan St., Alabama to Future Schedules

The WKU football program announced on Thursday that it will add both Michigan St. and Alabama to future schedules. WKU will go to East Lansing, Mich. for the first time in program history to face Michigan St. on Oct. 2, 2021. The Hilltoppers will then face Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Sept. 9, 2023. H.S. SOFTBALL | Male Hitting Plenty of Home Runs This Season

Male softball always seems to have plenty of talent on its roster. This season is no different. One of the players on this year’s team is senior Jenna Howell, who leads the state in home runs with 14 of them so far this season. “I’ve been working a lot on my swing over the summer and the fall, and this season, everything finally came together for me,” said Howell.  Read more 

EKU ATHLETICS | Colonels, adidas Announce Multi-Year Partnership

EKU athletics and adidas announced a new multi-year partnership on Monday. The 10-year deal results on adidas becoming the “official athletic footwear, apparel and accessory brand of the Colonels.” It will supply EKU’s 16 varsity athletic teams. “This is the first-ever, complete, department-wide apparel partnership for Eastern Kentucky University athletics,” EKU Director of Athletics Stephen Lochmueller said in a press release. “This partnership will provide all EKU teams access to the best gear available, provide brand consistency and help connect our fans... Read more

The Louisville softball team is getting ready to hit the road as it prepares to travel to the ACC Tournament in Atlanta, Ga. The Cards (32-19, 10-12) are the No. 8-seed in the tournament bracket and will face No. 9-seeded Syracuse (30-19, 9-12) on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET at Georgia Tech’s Shirley C. Mewborn Field. KENTUCKY DERBY | Justify Wins Kentucky Derby 144

The favorite took care of business on a sloppy track at Churchill Downs on Saturday. Justify won Kentucky Derby 144, giving trainer Bob Baffert his fifth career Kentucky Derby victory. With the win, Justify broke the “Apollo Curse,” becoming the first horse since 1882 to win the Kentucky Derby without racing as a two-year-old.
