The Western Kentucky football team’s Cure Bowl match-up against Georgia State is fast-approaching. The two programs will battle it out in the AutoNation Cure Bowl. Former Canisius head coach named Louisville Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

The University of Louisville announced on Monday that former Canisius head coach Scott Teeter is the Cardinals’ new Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach. Teeter served as head coach at Canisius for 16 years. During that time, he led the school to six conference titles and six trips to the NCAA Tournament. He replaces UofL’s former women’s lacrosse head coach Kellie Young , who was removed from her duties two weeks ago. The Hilltoppers broke free from a 13-13 tie with Nicholls State (Southland Conference) to torch the Colonels for 60 points in the first half. Freshman guard, Taveion Hollingsworth led the charge with a perfect first 20 minutes. Hollingsworth went 8 for 8 for 18 points. CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Bengals fell to 0-2 on Thursday night after falling to the Houston Texans 13-9 as their touchdown-less streak has now reached eight quarters. The University of Louisville swimming and diving team is celebrating the naming of four swimmers and three coaches to the USA National Team. Mallory Comerford, Zach Harting, Kelsi Worrell and Andrea Cottrell are among 115 on the team, which honors the nation’s top swimmers for their performances this year. Thousands flock to Waterfront Park for annual Hike, Bike & Paddle

As part of the mayor’s traditional Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike & Paddle, thousands of participants will converge at Louisville’s Great Lawn this Labor Day for a day of outdoor activity. Now in its 26th year, the event, also held on Memorial Day each year, features various fitness demonstrations, a 5K hike, 9.5-mile bike ride or a paddle on the Ohio River. U of L releases details of appeal of NCAA ruling

Details of the University of Louisville’s appeal of NCAA sanctions were made public Friday afternoon. In documents sent to Spectrum News by the university, the institution calls the penalties issued by the NCAA Committee on Infractions “draconian” and states the COI “abused its discretion.” Among additional scholarship restrictions and an institutional fine, the school is prepared to accept a number of penalties handed down by the COI.
