The Conner High School baseball team was named our “High School Team of the Week” on Wednesday. This year’s squad was 11-3 on the season prior to Wednesday evening. The Cougars are on the right track to contend for their third district crown in four years, and the players are enjoying every minute of their quest for another district district crown: Up next for Conner is a game at Holy Cross on Saturday. Read more

The Campbell County baseball team was named “Sports Night’s Team of the Week” on Wednesday. The Camels have not lost a game yet this season, as they were sporting a record of 9-0-1 heading into Wednesday evening’s match-up against Covington Catholic. H.S. BASKETBALL | Jake Ohmer Has Memorable Month of March

Scott High School guard Jake Ohmer had a huge month of March. He helped lead his team to the KHSAA Sweet 16 State Semifinals after scoring 106 points for the Eagles in three Sweet 16 tournament games. “You really are just numb to how he’s doing it because it’s so easy and natural,” said Scott head coach Steve Fromeyer. “You don’t even realize it’s happening.” The memorable performances did more for Ohmer though than just impressing his head coach. The St. X baseball team won the KHSAA state championship in 2016. This season, the Tigers are hoping to repeat. The team entered the season ranked no. 1 in the state, and have only dropped two games so far this season. H.S. WRESTLING | Union County Makes Noise at National Meet

The 2017 KHSAA state champion Union County wrestling team made a name for itself nationally this past weekend. A few of its wrestlers competed in the National High School Coaches Association National Wrestling Championships in Virginia Beach. The wrestlers represented well, with Micah Erin winning the national championship in his weight class, and with Saul Ervin, who finished third in his respective weight class. H.S. BASEBALL | Greenwood Named "Team of the Week"

The Greenwood Gators baseball team has been a roll as of late, winning three of its last four games. In fact, the Gators won two games on Saturday alone, sweeping a doubleheader by beating both Nicholas County and Glasgow. They will hope to get another win on Thursday against Cumberland County. County Connection | Star Multi-Sport Athlete Mason Wilson

Gallatin County High School senior Mason Wilson has found success during his athletic career at the high school level. In fact, the star basketball player has committed to play college basketball at Midway University. But, basketball is not his only prep sport. The two-sport athlete has played both basketball and baseball for the Wildcats all four years at Gallatin County, and last year he threw another unexpected sport into the mix.  Read more 

H.S. BASKETBALL | McDonald's All-American Games Feature Plenty of Future Bluegrass Talent

This year’s McDonald’s All-American Games feature a lot of high school basketball talent. It also features a lot of future college basketball stars who will play in the Bluegrass next season. The team from the Bluegrass with the most connections in the game is the Kentucky men’s basketball team. Four future Wildcats, Quade Green, P.J.
