Picture Perfect: Classmate Draws Romeo Langford And Highlights Accomplishments

New Albany senior cheerleader and artist Lili Kaelin has a special gift in drawing portraits. Kaelin says it was important for her to draw New Albany senior basketball star and classmate Romeo Langford before he graduated and moved on to the next chapter in his life. The high school football season is months away, but programs are already getting work done to prepare for the 2018 campaign. That includes the Kentucky Country Day football program. Wednesday night’s edition of Sports Night was a “County Connection” episode featuring Shelby County. As a result, the show featured the Collins High School bass fishing team. The Titans took part in the KHSAA Region 2 Tournament this past weekend, weighing in five different teams. H.S. BASEBALL | Remembering PRP Head Coach Bill Miller

Pleasure Ridge Park High School baseball head coach Bill Miller passed away on Monday. He was 68. Miller had been battling stage-IV lung cancer since 2015. Miller was the head coach of the Panthers’ baseball program for 39 years, winning six state championships with the team, while collecting a state-record 1,144 victories in the process. The Courier-Journal’s Jason Frakes joined Sports Night on Tuesday to reflect on the life and career of Miller: Miller was inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame this past weekend.... Read more

Covington Catholic fans have had plenty to cheer about this school year. The Colonels’ football team won the 2017 KHSAA football 5A state championship in December. The Covington Catholic boys basketball team won the 2018 Whitaker Bank / KHSAA Boys’ Sweet Sixteen State Basketball Tournament on Sunday Afternoon. The Colonels defeated Scott County 73-55 to win the second title in the school’s history and the first since 2014. The 2018 Whitaker Bank / KHSAA Boys’ Sweet Sixteen State Basketball Tournament continued on Friday afternoon with a pair of quarterfinal round games inside Rupp Arena. In the first game of the day, Scott County topped Corbin 73-62. In the second game of the day, Warren Central beat Pikeville 74-57. Scott County will play Pikeville in one of the tournament’s semifinal round match-ups on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET. Read more

For the first time in the history of the KHSAA Mr. & Miss Kentucky Basketball, the winners are from the same school. Trevon Faulkner and Seygan Robins, both from Mercer County, won the award. On Sunday, Robins was named the Sweet Sixteen MVP after leading Mercer County to back-to-back state championships. Trevon Faulkner will attend Northern Kentucky University and Robins has signed to play for the University of Louisville.  Read more
