This year’s McDonald’s All-American Games feature a lot of high school basketball talent. It also features a lot of future college basketball stars who will play in the Bluegrass next season. “You can win seven games a year just on strength and conditioning.” A motto that Trinity High School head football coach Bob Beatty takes into every one of the Shamrocks’ spring practices. Since Beatty took over as the head coach of Trinity football, the program has brought home 12 state championships, and he owes a lot of the success to the hard work the players put in in the offseason.  Read more

Bowling Green High School won their first Sweet 16 State Championship in school history on Sunday by beating Cooper 67-56. The Purples feature three senior leaders who have reached the Sweet 16 each year of their high school careers. The Bowling Green Purples became just the second school in KHSAA history to win both the football State Championship and basketball State Championship in the same school year on Sunday when they beat Cooper 67-56. The Mercer County girls basketball team won its first-ever state championship on Sunday afternoon inside Highland Heights’ BB&T Arena. The Titans beat Franklin County 85-71 to take home the trophy. Mercer County’s Seygan Robins was named Tournament MVP.
