WKU Lady Toppers Win Big Against Charlotte on Senior Night

WKU’s Women’s Basketball beat Charlotte 83-61 Friday night. Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard credited her Seniors, Ivy Brown and Tashia Brown for the win. Tashia Brown scored a career high of 38 points with nine rebounds and three steals. Ivy Brown had 14 points and Freshman Raneem Elgedawy scored 12 with 8 rebounds. UofL BASKETBALL | NCAA upholds Louisville penalties to vacate wins, pay fines

On Tuesday, the NCAA announced that it will uphold its original ruling, vacating wins within the University of Louisville basketball program and ordering the university to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. The decision will result in vacating men’s basketball games between December 2011 through 2014. This includes the 2013 National Championship title and a vacation of the program’s 2012 Final Four appearance. WKU’s Lady Tops won 77-50 over Marshall Saturday despite having a slow start offensively. Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard and Senior Ivy Brown discuss the team’s 20th win this season. Ivy Brown scored 26 points with 10 rebounds and 5 steals. Senior Tashia Brown put up 21 points and also had 5 steals. Freshman Raneem Elgedawy scored 12 points with 10 rebounds. Stansbury Credits Playing Small in WKU Win Over FIU

Coach Stansbury said playing small helped both Josh Anderson and Darius Thompson to be more effective in scoring and rebounding in WKU Basketball’s 83-76 win over FIU Saturday night. He may have planned to go small for this game, but Dwight Coleby’s knee injury in the first half may have sealed that decision for the head coach. Adidas has filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed against the apparel company by former UofL men’s basketball head coach Rick Pitino. The company claims the suit is without merit, per a criminal complaint which indicates that Pitino was, in fact, aware of a pay-to-play scandal involving UofL basketball recruits.
