Former Ballard High School baseball star Jo Adell returned to his high school this weekend to host his inaugural Jo Adell Ballard Baseball Camp. The two-day camp allowed kids to learn baseball skills from Adell. Adell was drafted tenth overall in the 2017 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels. Real Deal Sports and Entertainment cancels boxing event in Louisville

Real Deal Sports and Entertainment has announced that its boxing event in Louisville on September 28 has been cancelled. The company announced the decision on Saturday afternoon and cited “overwhelming and unresolved logistical issues” as the reason for the cancellation. Louisville mayor announces plans for $200M Butchertown development, soccer stadium

Louisville mayor Greg Fischer has announced a $200 million development in the city’s Butchertown neighborhood that will be anchored by a professional soccer stadium. The stadium will cover 15 acres and include 10,000 seats, allowing Louisville to compete for an MLS franchise. Louisville City FC will serve as the developer of the $50 million stadium. Louisville native and lightweight boxer Carlos Dixon will be back in the ring next Thursday in front of his hometown crowd. Dixon will be involved in a bout inside The Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport as part of the Real Deal Boxing Championship III. The first bout of the night begins at 6:30 p.m. ET. Wednesday night’s match between Louisville City FC an Rochester needed more than 90 minutes to determine a winner. But once stoppage time ended for the second half, the Boys in Purple found themselves in front of the Rhinos. LouCity FC beat Rochester 2-1 inside Slugger Field. Louisville mayor announces plans for $30M indoor track and field facility

Plans for a $30 million indoor track and field facility were announced by Louisville mayor Greg Fischer on Tuesday. The project will be developed by the Louisville Urban League and located on the 24-acre Heritage West property in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood. Thousands flock to Waterfront Park for annual Hike, Bike & Paddle

As part of the mayor’s traditional Subway Fresh Fit Hike, Bike & Paddle, thousands of participants will converge at Louisville’s Great Lawn this Labor Day for a day of outdoor activity. Now in its 26th year, the event, also held on Memorial Day each year, features various fitness demonstrations, a 5K hike, 9.5-mile bike ride or a paddle on the Ohio River.
