LOUISVILLE CITY FC | Luke Spencer Has Successful Knee Operation

Louisville City FC forward Luke Spencer underwent a successful operation on his right knee, LCFC announced on Tuesday. He is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks. This season, Spencer has made seven appearances with two starts. He scored LouCity’s first goal of the 2018 season, during his team’s 2-0 win over Nashville SC on March 17. The Boys in Purple are back in action this Saturday against Penn FC. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET inside Slugger Field.  Read more

BOWLING | PWBA Louisville Open Taking Place This Weekend

The Professional Women’s Bowling Association is in the Bluegrass this week for the PWBA Louisville Open. The tournament takes place at Fern Valley Strike and Spare. Friday will feature the tournament’s qualifying blocks, while the Round of 32, Round of 12 and stepladder finals will each take place on Saturday. Louisville City FC learned on Thursday that it will face Nashville SC in the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16. The match will be played on Wednesday, June 20 at 7 p.m. ET inside UofL’s Lynn Stadium. Louisville City FC is moving on to the “Round of 16” in this year’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The Boys in Purple beat the New England Revolution (MLS) 3-2 in front of over 5,000 fans at UofL’s Lynn Stadium on Tuesday evening. Louisville City FC is getting ready for its Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fourth-round match-up. The Boys in Purple welcome MLS’ New England Revolution to UofL’s Lynn Stadium on Tuesday night at 7 ET. It will be the second time that LouCity FC has ever faced off against an MLS club in a competitive match. The upcoming PGA Tour Barbasol Championship held its media day on Monday. The Barbasol Championship will take place from July 16-22 at the Champions Course at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky. FC CINCINNATI | FCC Joining MLS for 2019 Season

FC Cincinnati will be joining Major League Soccer prior to the 2019 season. MLS Commissioner Don Garber made that announcement on Tuesday in Cincinnati. LOUISVILLE CITY FC | LCFC Secures $21.7 Million in Tax Increment Financing

Louisville City FC announced on Thursday that it has received $21.7 million in tax increment financing (TIF) for the club’s Butchertown stadium development site. FC CINCINNATI | FCC Joining MLS Prior to 2019 Season

MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced on Tuesday that Cincinnati has been awarded a Major League Soccer expansion team. As a result, FC Cincinnati will be joining the MLS prior to the 2019 season. FCC will continue to play at Nippert Stadium until its new 21,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in Cincy’s West End neighborhood is completed in 2021.
