INDYCAR | Carpenter Fastest on First Day of Indy 500 Qualifying

The first day of qualifications for the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 is in the books and a hometown hero topped the speed chart. Indianapolis native Ed Carpenter put down a four-lap average of 230.468 mph to finish the day with the fastest four-lap average. Takuma Sato was second at 230.382 mph, while Scott Dixon was third at 230.333 mph. FC CINCINNATI | Orange and Blue Ready to Play Bethlehem Steel FC... Again!

FC Cincinnati picked up its first win in over a month on Wednesday night, when it topped AFC Cleveland 1-0 in extra time periods. It was FCC’s second round match-up in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Tournament. As a result, the Orange and Blue advance to the third round of the tournament on May 31 when it hosts Louisville City FC inside Nippert Stadium. F.C. Cincinnati advances in U.S. Open Cup after 1-0 overtime win

It was a long night at Nippert Stadium without a goal scored until the 115th minute. In the second overtime period, Djiby Fall headed a game winner to defeat AFC Cleveland and advance F.C. Cincinnati to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. FCC finished with 44 shots to Cleveland’s six. 16 of Cincinnati’s 44 shots were on frame. Djiby took at least 15 shots in his return to the field. FC Cincinnati frustrated by officials in 2-0 loss

In a frustrating match for both FC Cincinnati and Orlando City B, FCC fell 2-0 on their home field. In his opening statement after the game, Head Coach Alan Koch said, “I’m not allowed to speak about the refs so I won’t… We preach consistency to our players… we expect the same from officials.” The match included nine yellow cards, including six for FC Cincinnati, as well as 35 total fouls. INDYCAR | Power Cruises to IndyCar Grand Prix Victory

Will Power has had his fair share of setbacks this season. On Saturday afternoon, the stars finally aligned for the Team Penske driver. Power dominated, leading 61 of 85 laps en route to the second IndyCar Grand Prix victory of his career at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course. It was Power’s 30th victory all-time and his first of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season. Soctt Dixon and Ryan Hunter-Reay rounded out the podium, finishing second and third respectively. Louisville City FC goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski has stepped up for the team this season. So far this year, Dobrowolski has 10 saves and has recorded two clean sheets. Dobrowolski came has played in goal for the Boys in Purple ever since Greg Ranjitsingh went down with a non-contact injury during the team’s regular season opener against Saint Louis FC. BOXING | Championship Boxing Coming Back to Louisville

Championship-level boxing is coming back to Louisville this June. After playing its last two matches on the road, FC Cincinnati is finally back inside Nippert Stadium this weekend. The Orange and Blue(2-3-3) host Orlando City B (2-3-3) on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET. Louisville City FC is getting ready to play Tampa Bay on Saturday night at 7:30 ET in St. Petersburg, Fl. The two teams faced each other less than a month ago in Louisville, with the Boys in Purple earning a 2-1 victory.
