WKU FOOTBALL | Tops Prepped For Cure Bowl Match-Up

The Western Kentucky University football team (6-6, 4-4 C-USA) are gearing up for their Cure Bowl match-up in the first weekend of bowl games. The Tops face Georgia State (6-5, 5-3 Sun Belt) in Orlando’s Camping World Stadium at 1:30 p.m. central on Saturday. Bellarmine Knights prepare to test win streak

The Bellarmine Knights have a huge match-up on Monday when they test a 48-game home winning streak against No. 20 LeMoyne College. The Knights’ home-court advantage is not only the longest win streak in Division II, but across all of college basketball and even the NBA. Bellarmine is 9-0 to start the season. UofL BASKETBALL | Louisville Files Suit Against Rick Pitino

The University of Louisville has filed a suit against former Louisville men’s basketball head coach Rick Pitino. They are suing the ousted coach for monetary damages from NCAA games that could be vacated, along with the Final Fours and 2013 national title. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in federal court. They allege Pitino’s negligence and “wrongful conduct” has tarnished Louisville’s reputation. UofL is also seeking “bonuses and other compensation” they say was “wrongly paid” to the coach for the tournament... Read more

Tuesday night the Anderson County boy’s basketball team defeated Rockcastle County 83-56. The game was like any other- there were players, coaches, referees, fans and students, and of course, cheerleaders. One Bearcat cheerleader may stick out. Jerrica Drury is wheelchair bound due to cerebral palsy. Representatives from the University of Louisville were in Atlanta on Wednesday, taking part in a hearing with the NCAA Infractions Appeals Committee. It’s all part of UofL’s mission to reverse some of the penalties the NCAA issued to the school regarding the “stripper scandal” earlier this decade. The EKU baseball team announced its 2018 schedule on Wednesday morning. It is a challenging schedule as the Colonels will face six NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago. In fact, three of those teams made it to at least the NCAA Super Regionals last season. The No. 3 Louisville women’s basketball team used a balanced scoring effort from its players on Tuesday night, helping the Cardinals remain undefeated on the season.
