This year is the 100th anniversary of Kentucky’s Sweet 16 basketball tournament. To celebrate the milestone, the Kentucky Historical Society is dedicating its HistoryMobile, an exhibit on wheels that travels the state in a semi-trailer to honor the sport, and educate fans on how basketball has helped schools and communities address race and gender issues, rural and urban development, and so much more. WKU Lady Toppers Win Big Against Charlotte on Senior Night

WKU’s Women’s Basketball beat Charlotte 83-61 Friday night. Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard credited her Seniors, Ivy Brown and Tashia Brown for the win. Tashia Brown scored a career high of 38 points with nine rebounds and three steals. Ivy Brown had 14 points and Freshman Raneem Elgedawy scored 12 with 8 rebounds. Stansbury Lets Bench Shine in WKU Basketball's 38 Point Win Over Charlotte

WKU gained a lead over Charlotte after 10 minutes of play, and Head Coach Rick Stansbury used the opportunity to let the bench play through some mistakes. Coming off the bench, Freshman Josh Anderson led the Hilltoppers with a career high of 19 points. WKU’s Lady Tops won 77-50 over Marshall Saturday despite having a slow start offensively. Head Coach Michelle Clark-Heard and Senior Ivy Brown discuss the team’s 20th win this season. Ivy Brown scored 26 points with 10 rebounds and 5 steals. Senior Tashia Brown put up 21 points and also had 5 steals. Freshman Raneem Elgedawy scored 12 points with 10 rebounds. Coach Stansbury said playing small helped both Josh Anderson and Darius Thompson to be more effective in scoring and rebounding in WKU Basketball’s 83-76 win over FIU Saturday night. He may have planned to go small for this game, but Dwight Coleby’s knee injury in the first half may have sealed that decision for the head coach. The Western Kentucky football team’s Cure Bowl match-up against Georgia State is fast-approaching. The two programs will battle it out in the AutoNation Cure Bowl. Former Canisius head coach named Louisville Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

The University of Louisville announced on Monday that former Canisius head coach Scott Teeter is the Cardinals’ new Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach. Teeter served as head coach at Canisius for 16 years. During that time, he led the school to six conference titles and six trips to the NCAA Tournament. He replaces UofL’s former women’s lacrosse head coach Kellie Young , who was removed from her duties two weeks ago. By Ryan Dearbone The WKU Men’s basketball team (2-1) played about as perfect a first half as you could play. The Hilltoppers broke free from a 13-13 tie with Nicholls State (Southland Conference) to torch the Colonels for 60 points in the first half. Freshman guard, Taveion Hollingsworth led the charge with a perfect first 20 minutes. Hollingsworth went 8 for 8 for 18 points.
