Public schools have been on summer break for a couple weeks now, but it was just this past weekend that a baseball state champion was crowned. Pleasure Ridge Park out of Louisville won its fifth title in program history, and this one was perhaps the most dramatic of them all. Former Louisville football quarterback Stefan LeFors is starting a brand new event in the world of high school football. The current head coach of Christian Academy of Louisville is hosting the first Bluegrass Quarterback Challenge. The event takes place at CAL in Louisville from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and is an invite-only competition between some of the best high school quarterbacks in the state. The Franklin-Simpson baseball team is preparing to play in its first KHSAA State Tournament since the 2000 season. The Wildcats (31-5) have found a lot of success from their pitching staff this year. Pitchers Zach Sliger, Rylan Thomas and Ryan Dorris have accounted for 21 of the team’s 31 wins: Franklin-Simpson plays PRP (36-5) at Lexington’s Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Friday at 1:30 p.m. ET. Read more

The Highlands baseball team is preparing to play in its third-straight Whitaker Bank/KHSAA State Tournament. The Kentucky Boys Basketball All-Stars are preparing to play the Indiana All-Stars this weekend. The two teams are facing each other twice in this year’s Kentucky-Indiana All-Star Classic. The first game will take place Saturday at 7 p.m. ET inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The second game will take place Sunday at 4 p.m. ET inside Frankfort Civic Center in Frankfort. As the temperatures heat up this summer, so does Rondale Moore’s recruitment. The rising senior at Trinity High School is widely considered the number one wide receiver in the state.
