NKU BASKETBALL | Norse Adds Miami (OH) to 2018-2019 Schedule

The NKU men’s basketball team has announced that it will host Miami (OH) on Sunday, Dec. 16 inside BB&T Arena. It’s the third home game of the non-conference schedule that the Norse has announced. The other two games are against UMBC (Nov. 30) and Northern Illinois (Dec. 20). Last year, the RedHawks went 16-18 overall under first-year head coach Jack Owens. The last meeting between Miami (OH) and NKU was during the 2016-2017 season. The Norse won that match-up 79-70. Read more 

NKU BASKETBALL | Norse, Brannen Agree to Contract Through 2021-2022

NKU Director of Athletics Ken Bothof announced on Friday that NKU and men’s basketball head coach John Brannen have agreed to a new four-year contract keeping Brannen as head coach through the 2021-2022 season. Brannen has amassed a 55-42 overall record during his three years as the head coach of the Norse. NCAA BASKETBALL | In-State Kentucky Basketball Tournament?

The Crossroads Classic is a four-team basketball event each year for the state of Indiana that features four of the biggest programs in the state: Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame and Butler. Would Kentucky ever start an event like that? “I think it’s great for all of us in-state people to play,” said Stansbury on Monday. The 2018 NBA Draft takes place on Thursday night in Brooklyn, N.Y. Many mock drafts have Arizona center/forward DeAndre Ayton getting picked first overall by the Phoenix Suns. The Morehead St. baseball team is preparing for this weekend’s Clemson Regional of the NCAA Baseball Championship. The Eagles (37-24) are the No. 4 seed in the regional and will face No. 1 seeded Clemson (45-14) on Friday at 6 p.m. ET inside Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Bellarmine men’s basketball team has already found a lot of success this season. The Knights (28-2, 16-2) not only won the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season title, but they also won the GLVC Tournament championship. Six Bellarmine Knights earned postseason honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference on Tuesday. BU Head Coach Scott Davenport was named GLVC Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career. The Bellarmine men’s basketball team is riding a seven-game winning streak heading into Thursday night’s home finale against the University of Indianapolis. The Knights (24-2, 15-2) have not lost since Jan. 25, when they fell to the Greyhounds (17-7, 11-5) by the final score of 76-68. SPALDING UNIVERSITY | Building Renamed In Honor Of Muhammad Ali

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 would have marked Muhammad Ali’s 76th birthday. In the spirit of celebrating the Champ on his birthday, Spalding University announced they have officially renamed their athletic and athletics building back to Columbia Gym. In 1954 in Columbia Gym on Spalding’s campus, a young Cassius Clay learned the sport of boxing.
