The NCAA has issued a public reprimand to University of Louisville women’s basketball head coach Jeff Walz following comments he made during the Cardinals’ semifinal loss to Mississippi State on March 30. The reprimand issued includes a one-game NCAA postseason championship suspension, as well as the withholding of Walz’s Women’s Final Four per diem allowance. The NCAA has dropped its claim against former University of Louisville program assistant Brandon Williams in relation to its investigation of sexual misconduct within the men’s basketball recruiting program. An NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions had found that Williams did not fully cooperate with their investigation because he did not provide requested phone records which the committee alleges could have determined whether or not he was involved in the scandal. Former University of Louisville senior guard Quentin Snider has been chosen to participate in the annual Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship in San Antonio, Texas March 30 – April 1. Eastern Kentucky University has named Georgetown, Kentucky native A.W. Hamilton the Colonels’ men’s basketball head coach. The school made the announcement in a press release on Friday.
