Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird was at the Kentucky Derby Museum Thursday, along with his owners and trainers, to promote the movie “50 to 1,” which is based on the horse’s improbable win in the 2009 Kentucky Derby.
Also making an appearance at the museum was director Jim Wilson as well as actors Skeet Ulrich and Todd Lowe.
In 2009, Mine That Bird went off at 50-1 odds, making him the second biggest long shot to ever win the first jewel of horse racing’s triple crown. Donerail won the 1913 Derby at 91-1 odds.
Mine That Bird will travel to Keeneland on April 18 for special events but return to the Kentucky Derby Museum’s garden area on April 19 and remain until May 10. He will be available to guests with paid museum admission.
