Two-TD night from Gio Bernard leads Bengals over Steelers

After a much anticipated Monday night match-up between rivals Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, the Bengals walked away with their first win of the season — win in which Bengals rookies made a strong first impression on their division rivals.

Rookie running back Gio Bernard stole the show, scoring his first two NFL touchdowns Monday night. Bernard rushed for a 7-yard touchdown in the first half, which was set up by fellow rookie Tyler Eifert’s 61-yard catch. Bernard’s second touchdown came from a 27-yard reception in the third quarter.

The 20-10 victory marked the Bengals’ first win on Monday night since 2007, when they beat the Baltimore Ravens on opening night.

The Steelers are now 0-2 for the first time under Mike Tomlin.

Next, the Bengals take on the Packers, a strong non-conference opponent, at Paul Brown Stadium. It will be another opportunity for Cincinnati to legitimize the preseason hype.
