The Western Kentucky football program held its annual spring game over the weekend, and despite some muggy conditions the Hilltoppers put on a show for the fans in attendance. In his first year as the head coach, Mike Sanford finally got to display his own high powered offense, and several players jumped off the stat sheet. Male High School’s softball team is currently ranked in the “Top 10” in the state of Kentucky. A lot of the team’s success is due to the play of freshman Jaelyn Sanders. Sanders is one of Male’s most important pitchers. But, she’s much more than that. Sanders is also a solid hitter. April’s “County Connection” series took Spectrum News to Meade County, where there is an annual competition between two of the local golf courses in Brandenburg. River Trace Golf at Meade Activity Center and Doe Valley Golf Club compete against each other every year in an inter-club “Ryder Cup” match. The winning course then gets the “Ryder Cup” for that year. Doe Valley is the defending champion.
