U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth, D-Louisville, said on Friday that while he has no specific knowledge of a visit he expects Hillary Clinton will come to Kentucky to campaign for Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in the U.S. Senate race.

“I’ve always understood that she’s planning to come to the district for Alison at a time to be determined, and I think we can expect President Clinton back as well,” Yarmuth said Friday.

The Hill also reported Friday that Yarmuth told ‘The Bill Press show’ that Clinton, the former Secretary of State, would “absolutely” come to Kentucky to campaign.

Grimes’ father, businessman and former Democratic party chairman Jerry Lundergan, has close ties to both Hillary and Bill Clinton.

Former President Clinton came to the state in February to fundraise and campaign for Grimes against Republican U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.
