Voter ID bill dies in House committee

FRANKFORT – A bill which would have required all Kentucky voters to present a government issued photo ID in order to vote failed to pass a House committee on Monday. House Bill 215, sponsored by Rep. James Tipton, R-Taylorsville, would have required a voter to have a picture identification card issued by a governmental or educational entity to be presented to election officers if identity is not confirmed by personal acquaintance, in order to vote.
