U.S. Census Bureau population estimates show Louisville, Lexington growing

The two largest metropolitan areas in Kentucky are growing, according to new data released by the U.S. Census Bureau. The data released shows population estimates from July 1, 2017 and revealed that Louisville gained 9,105 people since July 1, 2016. The population of the Louisville-Jefferson County metro area increased to 1,293,953. The Lexington-Fayette area wasn’t too far behind the growth in the state’s biggest city, experiencing an increase of 5,890 people in the area.
