UofL Foundation announces firing of chief financial officer

The University of Louisville Foundation’s board has announced it has fired its Chief Financial Officer Jason Tomlinson, according to news reports.

The announcement was made during a foundation meeting on Tuesday, which comes six weeks after the release of a scathing forensic audit that uncovered millions in overspending and lax oversight by previous boards.

Craig Dilger, an external attorney for U of L, told lawmakers last week that losses at the foundation totaled between $40 million and $100 million, with his estimate closer to $60 million, and that the board might take legal action to recoup those losses.

Tomlinson’s termination follows the departures of former UofL President James Ramsey last summer and assistant Kathleen Smith after the audit’s release.
