Spotlight: Longest serving House Republican in the last century looks back on his time

03/30/2012 10:41 AM

No Republican has served longer in the Kentucky House of Representatives since 1900 than Rep. Danny Ford of Mount Vernon.

Ford, who turns 60 in April, decided not to seek a 16th term in the 80th House District this year.

In an interview with Pure Politics, he looked back on his accomplishments in the legislature and the changes he’s seen over the last 30 years.

Ford is not endorsing in the four-candidate Republican primary to succeed him in the 80th District seat.

Pure Politics will be airing interviews with each of the 12 lawmakers who are retiring at the end of 2012. (That doesn’t count Rep. Alecia Webb-Edgington who is not seeking re-election to the House because she is running for Congress).
