Sen. Paul: No knock out punches but Ryan scored on entitlement reforms

DANVILLE — Thursday night’s debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan likely won’t move the needle much in the presidential race, Kentucky U.S. Sen. Rand Paul said.

Paul, a surrogate for Mitt Romney and Ryan’s campaign, said his guy won the debate but “no knock out punches” were thrown.

Paul said Ryan’s best moment on domestic policy came when talking about the need to reform Medicare and Social Security because Biden offered no alternative plan to keep those programs solvent in the future.
