Sen. McConnell: Paul Ryan 'cogently' argued Republicans' philosophy against tax increases

DANVILLE — U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell said Republican candidate for vice president Paul Ryan cogently articulated the GOP’s opposition to allowing taxes to go up on any Americans.
The tax discussion provided one of the most contentious parts of the vice presidential debate at Centre College. Vice President Joe Biden was particularly animated during those exchanges.
And McConnell said he didn’t think his former Senate colleague came off well.
