State Sen. Dennis Parrett, D-Elizabethtown, is replacing ousted Sen. Julian Carroll, D-Frankfort, as the Minority Whip in the upper chamber.

Carroll was removed from his leadership post by his fellow Senators after an 11 month Pure Politics investigation into allegations that the former governor groped and propositioned photographer Jason Geis for sex in 2005.

Geis who was 30-years old at the time was seeking the lawmakers help in getting into an art institute.

Democratic leadership in the Senate have also called on Carroll to resign his seat. Carroll has refused to resign and has been attending interim committee meetings.
