Self-proclaimed political outsider and Republican businessman Matt Bevin elected Governor

Democrat Jack Conway, the state’s two-term Attorney General, took the lead with voters in the Louisville area, but it wasn’t enough. Republican Matt Bevin was victorious in every other region of the state and won with 53 percent of the vote. In his acceptance speech Bevin spoke about an area of agreement with his opponent.
