The Republican Party of Kentucky has named Sarah Pickerel as the organization’s new executive director.

Pickerel replaces former executive director Mike Biagi who left his position to join Louisville based lobbying firm the Rotunda Group.

The Glasgow native has worked for the Republican Party of Kentucky for more than 3 years as Finance Director and, most recently, Deputy Executive Director.

“Sarah’s contributions at the Party over the last few election cycles have been vital to the successes we have enjoyed. I am excited to work with her in this new role,” said RPK Chairman Mac Brown. “She is popular with elected officials, has a great relationship with donors and grassroots leaders and is respected by the Party staff. When the job came open, it quickly became clear she was the right person for the job.”

Sarah graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2012 as a dual major in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism. She has previously worked for the 2012 Presidential Campaign of Mitt Romney during the general election and has political experience in communications and field work.
